Qualifications

  • Minimum any Secondary School Certificate of Education or equivalent certificate in any field.
  • Have completed Sommelier certificates or trainings.
  • Minimum one year of experience in wine service.
  • Have two years of experience in 4-5-star hotel and/or premium restaurant (upscale restaurant).
  • Knowledge of various wine recipes and beverage service standards.
  • Fluent in English, addtional languages is an advantage.
  • Achieve departmental financial targets related to revenue and costs.
  • Ensure that the assigned area is properly stocked and set up as scheduled.
  • Oversee and provide exceptional beverage service in assigned dining locations.
  • Supervise and assist assigned staff with wine service in alternative dining locations.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of the wine list to provide recommendations and upsell effectively.
  • Stay informed about ship events and activities to anticipate guest needs and make suggestions for wine pairings.
