A luxury cruise line is hiring Bar Waiters / Waitresses for its onboard beverage team — recommending and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks across the ship’s bars, lounges, café, nightclub, casino and open decks, while delivering personalised, luxury service that reflects the company’s high standards.
You’ll bring
- At least 1 year of experience in an upscale bar environment
- Good knowledge of beverages and wines, including standard cocktail recipes, garnishes and presentation
- Fluent spoken and written English; an additional language is an advantage
- A valid STCW certificate
- Comfortable working with international team members and performing under time pressure
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Hospitality training or cruise ship experience is preferred
What you’ll do
- Greet guests and provide consistent, world-class beverage service throughout the ship
- Recommend, upsell and promote drinks, wines and bar events to generate revenue
- Prepare beverages according to guest preferences and company standards
- Keep your assigned bar area stocked, set up and open on schedule
- Monitor guest flow to make sure beverage and canapé service reaches every guest
- Assist with inventories, requisitions and restocking
- Maintain Public Health standards, log fridge and freezer temperatures, and follow the company alcohol policy
- Take part in all required safety drills and training
