Light Viking’s shows and entertainment venues, rigging, programming and running the lighting for every performance to a professional theatre standard.
Key responsibilities
- Rig, circuit and focus lighting for assigned shows, and program the lighting console during technical rehearsals
- Run manual and computer-controlled lighting during shows, operating follow-spot when needed
- Carry out fixture and circuit checks before each show and keep a show report log
- Inspect and maintain overhead rigging and carry out minor to moderate equipment repairs
- Communicate closely with the Stage Manager and attend all show set-ups, calls and meetings
- Keep lighting areas clean and safe to public-health and safety standards
You’ll bring
- Proven lighting experience in professional theatre, live events or a similar venue, with DMX control systems and advanced wiring; shipboard experience preferred
- Hands-on with consoles such as MARTIN M1 or grandMA and LED / automated fixtures, fog machines, follow-spots and strobes
- A degree in technical theatre is an advantage (relevant audio-electronics training also considered)
- Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and scaffolding and work at height on catwalks
- Fluent English, self-directed and a reliable team player
