Support the Chief Engineer and senior engineering team in the safe, reliable and compliant operation of the vessel’s machinery and Engine Department.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise assigned engineering watchkeeping, maintenance and repair activities
- Manage planned maintenance of main and auxiliary machinery within delegated responsibility
- Lead engineering ratings and junior engineers during maintenance and operational tasks
- Monitor machinery performance, defects, consumables and technical records
- Support bunkering, drills, emergency response and statutory inspections
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with SMS, environmental and permit-to-work procedures
You’ll bring
- A valid Second Engineer CoC appropriate to vessel power and flag requirements
- Substantial experience on cruise, passenger or comparable diesel-electric vessels preferred
- Strong engine-room leadership, maintenance and fault-finding capability
- Valid STCW certificates, flag endorsements and seafarer medical as required
- Strong English and report-writing ability
