Support the Deck Department with seamanship, maintenance, mooring and general deck operations under supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with mooring and unmooring operations
- Carry out cleaning, chipping, painting, greasing and general deck maintenance
- Assist ABs and the Bosun with ropes, wires, fenders and deck equipment
- Support gangway, tender and stores operations when assigned
- Maintain deck areas and equipment in a safe condition
- Participate in drills and emergency duties in accordance with the muster list
You’ll bring
- Previous deck-rating experience preferred; cruise or passenger vessel experience advantageous
- Basic seamanship and safe-working knowledge
- STCW certification appropriate to rating duties
- A valid seafarer medical
- Good working English
