Support the Bosun in supervising deck ratings and carrying out deck maintenance, seamanship and mooring operations.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with allocation and supervision of daily deck work
- Lead small teams during maintenance, painting and preservation tasks
- Support mooring, anchoring, tender and gangway operations
- Inspect and maintain ropes, wires, deck equipment and working areas
- Provide practical guidance to ABs and OSs
- Act for or support the Bosun as directed by the Deck Officers
You’ll bring
- Previous senior deck-rating or Assistant Bosun experience
- Strong seamanship and deck-maintenance skills
- Cruise or passenger vessel experience preferred
- The ability to supervise deck ratings safely
- STCW certification, medical fitness and good English
