Perform welding, fabrication and mechanical fitting work in support of vessel maintenance, repair and refit activities.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out approved welding and fabrication using processes for which qualified
- Cut, grind, fit and repair steel and other metal components
- Support pipework, machinery, structural and equipment repairs
- Fabricate brackets, supports and replacement components from drawings or measurements
- Inspect completed work and maintain welding and fabrication equipment
- Follow hot-work permits, fire watch, gas testing and isolation requirements
You’ll bring
- Previous marine Fitter/Welder or industrial welding experience
- A recognised welding qualification or certification appropriate to assigned work
- Cruise, passenger vessel or shipyard experience preferred
- Strong fabrication, fitting and hot-work safety knowledge
- STCW certification, medical fitness and good English
