Run a restaurant service station on board, supervising a small team of assistant waiters and café attendants and delivering Viking’s STAR service standards from the first greeting to farewell.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and organise your service station, supervising 2 to 4 assistant waiters and café attendants
- Present menus, recommend dishes and wines, and relay orders to the galley through the MXP system
- Serve food and beverages to standard, following the ship’s alcohol-service policies
- Handle reservations, seating and room-service orders when directed
- Run cocktail parties, Tea Time and special events, and keep stock to par levels
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness and hygiene, with mise-en-place ready 15 minutes before service
You’ll bring
- Minimum 2 years in food and beverage service, as a Waiter or Assistant Waiter, in a 4/5-star hotel or fine-dining restaurant; cruise experience an advantage
- Aged 21 or above, physically fit, and able to stand and carry for long periods
- Good food and wine knowledge and the confidence to work independently
- Fluent English and a warm, guest-focused manner
- Flexible, positive and immaculately presented
