On 10 June 2026, Jobs Kreate visited Ambitious Academy in Johor for a cruise career talk with students who are exploring future pathways in hospitality, travel and international work.
The session continues the partnership Jobs Kreate formalised with Ambitious Academy through the talent-development MOU signed in January 2026 — moving from a signed agreement to time spent directly with students in the classroom.
For many students, a career at sea can feel distant or unfamiliar. Sessions like this bring it closer: what the roles actually are, what international employers expect, and what preparation is needed long before an application is submitted.
Introducing students to careers beyond the traditional workplace
The talk was structured around Jobs Kreate’s “Is a Cruise Career For You?” session, which walks students through the cruise industry from the inside: the types of roles available onboard, hospitality service standards, teamwork and discipline, adaptability, and the importance of presenting themselves professionally to international employers.

Cruise careers can open doors to global exposure and hands-on experience across departments such as food and beverage, housekeeping, galley, guest services, retail and spa — always depending on employer requirements and the vacancies open at the time. Rather than promoting a single role, the session focused on helping students understand how their current studies connect to these pathways, and what the realities of working on a cruise ship actually look like.
A founder-led session by Keith Foo
The career talk was led by Keith Foo, Founder & Managing Director of Jobs Kreate, who shared insights from the cruise and hospitality industry, the mindset required to succeed, and how Malaysian candidates can prepare themselves for opportunities abroad — from understanding the application process to interviews, documentation and employer expectations.
Why career awareness matters
At Jobs Kreate, career awareness is the first step of responsible recruitment. Before candidates apply, they should understand the industry, the working environment and the commitment required — so the decision to pursue a career at sea is an informed one, made together with their families.

These sessions also help schools, colleges and academies expose students to real-world industry expectations in a practical, relatable way. Education partners who would like to introduce their students to cruise and international hospitality careers are welcome to get in touch about hosting a career talk.
The visit continues a year of community-facing work for our team: the MOU with Ambitious Academy in January, the Viking River open interview session in December 2025, cruise career sharing sessions in Sabah in April, the myStarjob Fair in May, and our onboard visit to Genting Dream at Port Klang. Each touchpoint follows the same approach: meet candidates where they are, share honest information and support better-prepared career decisions.
Thank you, Ambitious Academy

Jobs Kreate would like to thank Ambitious Academy, Johor, for hosting the session and giving students the opportunity to learn more about cruise and hospitality career pathways — and the students themselves, who took part with curiosity and ambition. Their interest reflects the growing potential of young Malaysian talent in the global hospitality industry.

Students and jobseekers who are interested in working at sea can browse our current cruise vacancies or get in touch to learn more about available roles, requirements and preparation steps. All opportunities are subject to employer requirements, candidate suitability, documentation and the relevant approval processes.
