Assistant Chief Housekeeper

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor housekeeping supplies, locker stock levels, and weekly requisitions.
  • Ensure guest staterooms, public areas, corridors, and housekeeping areas meet company cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Handle guest concerns and special requests professionally.
  • Maintain cleaning logs and follow up on special cleaning schedules.
  • Lead and support a multicultural housekeeping team.
  • Conduct daily briefings and provide operational updates.
  • Ensure compliance with public health, safety, hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards.
  • Report damages, defects, and maintenance issues to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Support team training, performance management, and crew communication.
  • Prepare for and participate in public health inspections.
  • Maintain a flexible, professional, and service-focused attitude at all times.

Qualifications

  • This role is open to Malaysian/Singaporean citizen only.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Chief Housekeeper or in a similar role.
  • Degree in Business Administration or Hotel Management is preferred.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in a 5-star hospitality environment and ship operations with 500+ staterooms.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a multicultural team.
  • Strong attention to detail with high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Proficient in databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems.
  • Flexible, stress-resistant, committed, and a strong team player.
  • Excellent knowledge of Public Health policies.
