Head Waiter/Waitress

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in daily restaurant operations, menu presentations, special events, and Food and Beverage functions.
  • Plan staff schedules, assign sections, and monitor team attendance.
  • Welcome guests, manage reservations and seating, and ensure special requests or allergies are communicated clearly.
  • Coordinate professionally with the Executive Chef, Galley Team, and Bar Team.
  • Conduct inventories, stock takes, and assist with restaurant orders.
  • Ensure mise en place, service areas, and equipment are clean, sanitised, and ready before service.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a multicultural restaurant team.
  • Monitor service standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support cost control, inventory management, and Restaurant KPI targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Public Health, safety, security, grooming, and uniform standards.
  • Maintain a flexible, professional, and guest-focused attitude at all times.

Qualifications

  • This role is open to Malaysian/Singaporean citizen only.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Head Waiter or in a similar role.
  • Experience in a 5-star hospitality or restaurant environment.
  • Shipboard experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, physically fit, and in good health.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
  • Additional languages are an advantage.
  • Experienced in leading multicultural teams.
  • Flexible, committed, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Guest-focused, service-oriented, and professionally presented.
  • Strong knowledge of Public Health policies and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and motivational skills.
